About NAU-CHINA

Building the First Garden in Nanjing

NAU-CHINA 2026 comes from Nanjing Agricultural University. Our project, CellApp, focuses on "programmable protein regulation through engineered liquid–liquid phase separation," attempting to build a tunable, dynamic, and reversible membraneless organelle toolbox in Escherichia coli. The project includes modules for long-term static sequestration, rapid light-controlled reversible condensation, temperature- and pH-responsive regulation, and intein-mediated functional replacement.

As the initiator of ICII, we are both the organizer of the garden and one of the teams participating in it. We are willing to openly share our own questions, accept suggestions from our partners, and explore together with other teams the broader possibilities of compartmentalization tools in metabolic regulation, protein engineering, education, and social discussion.

Closing: The Garden Gate Stays Open, the Story Is Not Yet Finished

From a Silk Road that crossed regions to a garden of condensation grown together by multiple teams, ICII has always believed that the boundaries of science should not become walls against communication, and that cultural differences need not be flattened. It is precisely different spaces, functions, and experiences that give the collaborative network its richer possibilities.

May every team keep its own scenery here, and also see new distant places through the windows of others; may scattered ideas meet in questions, condense in discussion, and once again move out into the world after shared creation.

One team, one scene; gathering and dispersing in order.
Bounded yet wall-less; coexisting and co-creating.
